17 Mar Whats in my yoga bag? + Hot Dog Yoga Rollpack® Review
I was previously impartial to yoga, for the fact that I had viewed it to be a quick and easy relaxation routine that consisted of a few stretching moves I could easily master. I saw it to be a waste of my time. I thought that I would stick to my usual cardio and weights, and avoid falling into the “fad” workout. However, my coworker constantly asked me to attend a class with her. She would not stop until I gave in, so one day before our shift we went. I was expecting ongoing “oms” and a sedentary meditation in a room filed with skinny and flexible females in tight tight clothes, but what that class brought to me was so much more. It did not matter who was in the class, what anyone was wearing, who had the cute yoga mat, or any matter of that sort. What I realized was that yoga is holistic and spiritual.
I was challenged in way that I have never been challenged before. I had to center my mind and body together in one moment, clear my mind of all that was going on in the outside world, and connect with my inner being in a way that I had not considered before. Yoga allows you to hone your mental focus, connect with your soul, and challenge yourself to focus on the now.
With my increase in weekly yoga classes, I decided to invest in proper materials and tools. I still am yet to get a yoga block, but I feel as if I am excelling without it 🙂 Of course I got myself some cute, BRIGHT and tight yoga attire, and I was also generously given a Hot Dog Yoga Rollpack® to try out.
What’s in my yoga bag? Here are a few things I have recently been bringing to class:
- Extra set of clothes
- Water (I usually make infused water with fruit and herbs)
- A book: I go to class after school or work, so I usually have time to spare before it starts
- A healthy snack
- DIY mat cleaner (I used the Oh She Glows recipe)
- Jade Yoga Mat: Made with no PVC or ozone-depleting substances
- My phone
- A small face towel used during my routine
Let me just say that this bag should be included in the list of requirements at any and every yoga studio. I was previously lugging around a bag that I always had to dig through to find my keys, buried in my extra clothes and whatnot, and I reached the point where I was over it. I had to carry my bag and mat in separate hands, and although it may not seem too inconvenient, I found myself at moments having to just drop my mat to the floor in order to use an open hand.
Here are the highlights of the bag:
- Exterior is water-repellant
- 8 separate storage spaces: zippered clothing section, mat/towel/blanket sling, 2 padded and divided cargo pockets, zippered phone/I.D. pocket and bottle caddy
- Ventilated clothing storage is + a garment hanger hole.
- Mat sling with a removable tie-down
- Double top closures to secure your mat + adjustable webbing
- Adjustable & removable shoulder strap + double straps for hand-carrying
- When empty, the Rollpack® folds into quarters, so it stores easily in a studio cubby, drawer or suitcase
- Great for travel, classes, retreats, etc.
