12 Oct September Favorites
I’ve been a busy bee this past month, so this post is coming up with quite a delay but hey, better late than never! I decided I will share with you some of my monthly favorites to give you some of ideas and new products and foods to check out 🙂
This month, I really enjoyed…
1. Savour This Kitchen Spice Blends
A Los Angeles based company making gourmet vegan + gluten-free products. They currently sell sauce + these spice blends! I have only tried their spice blends so far, and I highly recommend them. I am not a classically trained chef, and something I have a hard time with is blindly seasoning dishes. I am still learning which spices and herbs mix well with specific ingredients, so these spice blends were actually perfect for me! They are balance to perfection in regards to the different components within each, and they all provide a unique flavor punch that I promise can bring any dish together.
Merchant is perfect for curry-type dishes, Gypsy I have found to be the perfect addition to Homemade Supefood Chocolate Bark and Coffee Substitutes, Nomad is perfect atop Avocado Toast, and try sprinkling Seafarer into your vegan sushi before rolling it up.

Pitaya, Banana, Come On Pretty Mama!
I love these smoothie packs not only because of the flavor, but just look at the color! Everytime I make a Pitaya Smoothie I am just mesmerized by the color and I don’t want to eat it, it’s too pretty! My favorite Pitaya recipe is a Pitaya “Ice Cream”. Just blend a frozen smoothie pack with some frozen bananas, a splash of almond or coconut milk and toppings if you have any.
These smoothie packs are raw, organic, non-GMO and 100% fruit. + They are loaded with magnesium, B vitamins and fiber! What’s awesome is that they sell them online, so you can order them if you find yourself unable to find them.

3. Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant – Lavender + Sage
+ Stickers from Vegan Food Share from my friend Yvonne. It was such a coincidence that Yvonne gave this to me for my birthday! I was planning to make my own homemade deodorant, and she gifted me one with ingredients almost spot on to the recipe I was going to make. This was perfect, as I was able to sample a natural deodorant before possibly wasting money on ingredients of my own. All you have to do is take the scooper and get a small amount of it rub it in between your fingers to soften up a bit, then rub it in. It worked for me during my workouts recently, and I am very pleased!

4. Bautista Family Organic Dates
I swear, these are the best dates I have ever had! These dates are FRESH and RIPE, as they are harvested and sold only during a specific season each year. I always try and order my dates as soon as their web store launches sales, because I want to get my hands on these gems before it is too late. Most dates are harvested all at once, but Bautista Family harvests dates from the same bunch in two, often three stages to ensures ideal ripeness.
Another note is that these dates are ORGANIC, never heated or irradiated, never frozen, and allergen free, as their facilities are not exposed to tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, wheat, soy, starch, or anything else (other than the packing materials, of course).
Lastly, these dates are DELICIOUS. And I advise you do not take that lightly. They sell them in wet packs and dry packs, and the wet packs are something you need to try at least once. The dates are like caramel melting in your mouth.
They offer 7 varities: Medjool, Khadrawy, Halawy, Honey, Deglet Noor, Zahidi and Barhi. You can get a variety pack (as pictured above) if you’re not too sure of which you would enjoy. If you are in any of the California farmer’s market locations they visit, you can try some samples there as well. All of that info is on their website.

5. Ripe Near Me
If you have your own self-produced organic fruits, seeds, vegetables, herbs, flowers, baked goods, jams, etc., that you cannot seem to use up or want to share, this is the place for you!
Ripe Near Me is a website that you can use to locate produce and other goodies for free, sale or exchange in your area! It can also be a platform for you to share what you grow in your home. Anyone with a RipeNear.Me account and produce to share can join! And even if you don’t grow food yourself, you can help grow the community by posting produce growing on public land.
