Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Unboxing (Video) + My Boyfriend Does My Makeup

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Unboxing (Video) + My Boyfriend Does My Makeup

This month I was given the opportunity to review a Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, and I decided to have a bit of fun with it and do a video unboxing (below), and even have my boyfriend’s help in trying out all of the products. He did my makeup and, well, let’s just say that won’t be happening ever again…

I am not a beauty guru/blogger, and I am not well versed in the realm of make up, so this box was perfect for me in that I was able to try out sample sizes of all that was included. One of the reasons why I am not so into purchasing and trying out new vegan beauty products, especially make up, is that I do not want to spend a whole lot on full sized products that I’m not sure I will love or use often. I definitely recommend the beauty box to those in the same shoes as me, or even those who are skilled in make up but want to save a few bucks. Even if it’s a one month purchase and not a recurring subscription that you go for, do it!

We had such a great time sampling out the box together, and it was a great addition to my 2015 Vlogmas Playlist, if any of you have checked that out. I have been doing 25 videos in 25 days this month of December, you can check it out on my Youtube channel.
Vegan Cuts is an online Marketplace where you can find the best vegan products around, including beauty, snacks and fashion. Today I am here to unbox and review their Beauty Box, which  is a monthly subscription box including 4-7 new vegan and cruelty-free products.

You can use the discount “DECBEAUTY” for 10% off Vegan Cuts Beauty 🙂

+ This month’s beauty box is 100% Leaping Bunny certified, where all of these companies are clear of animal testing from all stages of product development, being 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and still of great, if not the best, quality out there 🙂

This month’s box included:

  1. Concrete Minerals pigmented eye shadow in the color ‘smut’
This was the first powdered eye shadow I have tried out, as I usually am drawn to the cream-based shadows as they are less harsh in application. Start with a small bit, and be sure to tap off excess from the brush before applying this to your face. This color is more of a night time look, and in my opinion should be dressed up with a bit of liner and mascara for the best do.
  2. Crazy Rumors cinnamon bun lip balm
This was my favorite item in the box, I in all honestly just wanted to gobble it all up, it smells like a good fresh bun (hun :P).
  3. Demes Natural Products makeup dissolving facial cleanser
Smells nice, takes all my makeup off and even leaves your skin silky smooth. At first it was a bit odd for me to wash my face with an oil as I felt that I was only smearing the makeup all over and not doing much, but once I rinsed my skin and wiped it clean with a towel, damn did it feel good 😉 I wore eye makeup in the video, and again for our holiday celebration, and it worked well to remove that and not leave much residue on my eyes.
  4. Auromere ayurvedic toothpaste in fresh mint
Chris and I took a small getaway trip after all of the happenings of our holiday season, so this sample size was perfect! It does not foam as much as a generic toothpaste, but it also does not contain all the crap (and fluoride) those contain either. It got the job done + left a refreshing minty flavor.
  5. Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques  pressed cheek color in the color ‘sweet sixteen’
A bit more pink than my go to blushes, but once I mastered brushing on just a light coat on my face, and blending it in a bit with a powder, this color went well with my skin tone. Unfortunately, the video does not do it much justice as Chris wasn’t able to master this technique, but the key with this blush is to take it easy, and just build up from there.
  6. Acure Organics cell stimulating facial mask
I have used Acure organics products before (I included them in my personal care & oral hygeine post), so I expected nothing but satisfaction from this. My skin felt rejuvenated, definitely a lot cleaner than at the start, and soooo silky smooth.
