Every Fall, the Bautista Family Date Farm in California restocks their much anticipated seven varieties of dates on their website, 7hotdates.com, and those who frequent their products, especially those part of the vegan/raw vegan community, rejoice! Or at least I do :p This year, my first ordered (this will definitely not be my last) was a "Royal Treatment" date sampler and a large box of medjool dates. All of their dates are fresh, organic, and local to my area.

Eating healthy during the holidays can be daunting to some, but I am here today to share with you two recipes that you could whip up in your kitchen for you and your loved ones. The first is a Layered Coconut Berry Holiday Smoothie that is raw and kid-friendly, and the second is a hearty Holiday Kale & Quinoa Salad loaded with some of my favorite ingredients, like maple glazed walnuts and persimmons. These ingredients are simple!

Butternut Squash Quinoa Salad With Lemon & Fresh Herbs + Pitaya Smoothies!I was invited to a Thanksgiving potluck this year, but I was so overwhelmed by all of the dishes I was going to make for our actual thanksgiving celebration that I really wanted to keep it simple for this dish. I made this dish on a Friday night for a Saturday potluck, but I woke up feeling off and ill, and decided not to go :( I was really bummed as I wanted to share this dish with my friends, and I also had made a double batch of this, so I was worried of the waste! Luckily, the leftovers of this dish keep well for a few days, and are great cold straight out of the refrigerator believe it or not.

Our 100% Vegan Thanksgiving Feast! This year I was lucky enough to have my boyfriend Chris by my side, not only to join me in the kitchen, but to also help me stay grounded and grateful this holiday season. He always brings such positive energy into our time spent together, and somehow is always able to create a stress-free environment, which is exactly what I needed preparing for this day. We spent pretty much all of Wednesday and Thursday prepping what you see below, and what a whirlwind it was! In a good way, of course ;) Chris and I vlogged our two days together as well, check out the video below! Remember to celebrate what IS, and not to focus on what IS NOT. Love yourself and choose health, always <3
