Black Rice Pilaf + Veganish Book Review & Giveaway"Eat Smart, Get Healthy and Feel Beautiful Inside & Out"

Today I am going to review for you another resource that I recommend as part of my How to Adopt A Plant-Based Diet and Succeed. What I have here today is Veganish: The Omnivores Guide To Plant-Based Cooking. This book is definitely something I wish I had had while transitioning into a plant-based diet from a standard American diet. It covers literally every aspect of plant-based cooking, both nutritionally and culinarily. It basically helps you transition with no fears, worries or temptations. It covers any and every type of recipe you may be craving, and will help you prove to yourself, and the world, that living this lifestyle is not only easy, but it is enjoyable and such a beautiful way to live.

If you have ever dreamed of having a personal chef  to provide you with not only a healthy diet, but one that is great tasting, this book will do just that. Veganish offers a holistic approach to food that will make you healthy AND satisfied. This book will be your go-to guide.

Raw Vegan Thanksgiving StuffingSooooooo, this recipe is going to blow your mind. Growing up, my mom never ever made homemade stuffing. In fact, she still doesn't. What she used (and still uses) are Stove Top stuffing in a box that she pretty much just adds water, butter and its spice packet to. Well, this year, I will no stand for this! Over the last 3 years as a vegan, I have tried to influence my family as best I can to turn away from prepackaged, processed foods and ingredients, and to turn to whole food plant based foods/ingredients. My family has made significant progress towards this way of living, but they are still far off from a full blown transition. What I have found as the easiest way to influence them to try out alternatives to their previous habits is by making the dishes myself (veganized, of course). Raw Vegan Thanksgiving Stuffing

_GreenBeansWhat's Thanksgiving without some green beans! Yvonne and I were definitely missing some greens on our 2014 Thanksgiving menu, and what a delicious way to fill that void! These green beans are crisp, a little spicy, and full of flavor. Plus they are easy to make! The large pieces of garlic made this dish for me. I LOVE using garlic in my recipes, but I usually finely mince the garlic to a point where it disappears in the mix. This was definitely a great change and something I will use in the future. It adds a great touch and pumps up the garlic flavor that I love! GreenBeans

I have teamed up with vegan chef Yvonne Ardestani to bring to all of my readers 13 new recipe for a Vegan and Gluten-free Sweet Eceletic Thanksgiving Celebration! I'm crossing my fingers that a recipe of ours makes it to your list!

mushoomgravyMmmm Mmmm Mmmm! That is what I have to say about this. Chef Yvonne Ardestani you never cease to amaze me. When Yvonne had shared the recipe with me, I was so intrigued by the ingredient port. I had no idea what it was, and ended up actually having to look it up on google. Props to Yvonne and her fancy shmancy ingredients and chef skills, because this was the bomb! I had made my own variations of vegan mushroom gravy in the past, but I have never made it like this. And surprisingly, this was so simple to make! All of the herbs merry so well with each other and add that umph in this gravy that separates it from the rest. Use this to top some Garlicky Cauliflower Purée and voila, you have the perfect side dish for your next Vegan Thanksgiving celebration! This recipe can also be made one day in advance! I suggest you do so to save you some time during your holiday prep!
