On Sunday, January 25th, I am happy to share that I was privileged enough to attend the first annual LA Cookie Con at the Pasadena Convention Center! I forgot my camera, yet again :( So please be ready for some iphone photos! Hey, they work so don't judge me haha.

+ OH! And there is a HUGE giveaway at the ends of this post, worth over $200, make sure you check it out!

What is the LA Cookie Con? At this convention, sweet masters from around the country came together to show off their recipes and wares. It included demonstrations, cookie-eating contests, baking contests, current and upcoming products (both food and non-food), and fun for pretty much anyone. It was headlined by Food Network’s “Sweet Genius” host Ron Ben-Israel. The event also raised money from proceeds to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Official program is available here, for those interested in possibly attending next year <3 I decided I would take you through my day at the La Cookie Con. I discovered a ton of vegan and gluten-free foods and products a for you all to check out. LACOOKIECON875

I had a little fun outside of my kitchen and pulled out my water colors to paint these little guys for a Vegan Valentine's Day celebration this year. You don't have to be vegan to make these of course, but they were inspired by my love for fruit! Requirements? A sense of humor, a smile, and base images to work off of from google. But really, you just need water colors, proper paper (from an art store), water and a brush. These were so easy to do, so simple, and so fun! You can even photocopy the one you create, and print dozens of them on a smaller scale to hand out. My version, both with and without text, are available below each image :) Pear (hehe) these with your valentine's favorite vegan sweets +flowers, and you've got yourself the perfect gift.

You Had Me At Avocado

What a beautiful January day it was here in California last Saturday, 1/2/15. My friend Leanne Bishara and I got together to shoot a few photos for my blog that I will be sharing with you all today, some beautiful headshots out in the Arlington Garden in Pasadena, CA. I found out that Pasadena has a website dedicated to the garden, which you can find here.

And above is the photo I have chosen to use for my headshot. I know it isn't a typical minimalistic headshot photo, but I really think that its inclusion of a fruit tree embodies who I am.

After having some fun in the kitchen, Leanne Bishara  and I relocated to Arlington Garden in Pasadena, CA. We both had never been to the location, and we did not know what to expect, but it was the PERFECT location.

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to sample and review Fresh N' Lean meals for my readers here on my blog and Instagram, and now I am ready to share! First off, all of the opinions shared are my own, and I would only share if I really truly enjoyed Fresh N' Lean, which I can assure you, I DID!

Fresh N' Lean is a vegan meal delivery service that provides organic, vegan, low-sodium, low-fat, and preservtive-free breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Everything is made to order and ALL of their meals are nutrient-rich using locally sourced, in-season produce. They are made in Chino Hills, not too far from my home in Los Angeles. What I love the most is that they use minimal oil and salt. In taste testing 5 different meals with my family ,whom I should add are not vegan, and are in fact eat eaters that eat a more healthy version of a standard american diet, loved them. My mom and I even fought over who would eat what for work lunches, haha! My parents agrees that no additional seasonings were needed.  I was only able to try savory lunch/dinner dishes from Fresh N' Lean, but with my experience, I would assume that their breakfasts would be just as delicious and satisfying. Here are two shows of what I had at home:

  • You can also pick out produce and put little notes on each, saying why you chose that ingredient or why it reminds you of the person.
  • Fill the box with specific ingredients and attach a recipe card for the person's favorite recipe and an "rsvp" phone number (yours) to set a date for you two to cook the recipe together.

Silly me forgot to bring my camera to the event, so get ready for some iphone photos! I will start by saying THANK YOU to Melissa's Produce! Nick at Melissa's Produce was kind enough to invite me to the Kitchen Aid Torrent Blender Launch Party they held in their Los Angeles test kitchen last Thursday! I decided I would document the night and share with you a review on the blender that is to be released next year. I will also do a review up close and personal with the blender as well, but that will be for another day :) IKitchen Aid Torrent Blender Launch Party + Melissa's ProduceI was accompanied by my beautiful friend, the one and only Yvonne Ardestani of My Eclectic Kitchen. (If you don't already have you hands on her app or ebook, you need to check them out!) And of course I had to rock my Green Juice Tote at the event as well, everyone loved it I was so flattered!
