Did you know that the fashion industry is the third most polluting industry in the world after oil and agriculture?

Today I am sharing something a bit different, and hoping to do more written pieces like this to shed light on other aspects I am passionate about aside from food. Chris and I are, as you may have seen, including more travel and lifestyle posts on our website, and I hope you enjoy reading these as much as we enjoy putting them together!

I became more aware of ethical fashion because of a youtuber named Kristen Leo, and from there began doing more research on the subject. According to the Ethical Fashion Forum, ethical fashion “represents an approach to the design, sourcing and manufacture of clothing which maximizes benefits to people and communities while minimizing impact on the environment” >> it means benefitting, not harming, communities involved in the process and development of the clothing, as well as not harming the environment AND also (what is not emphasized) NOT harming animals.

Summer Mango SaladWhere are all my mango lovers at?! Mango salads, soups, smoothies or just a plain ol' mango mono meal. All are always the best, right? Atualfo mangoes are always my favorite. For me personally, I love that they are less stringy, that they are creamy dreamy when fully ripe, and that they are almost always the most affordable mangoes in my area. I was inspired by Ellen Fisher to make mango dressings for my salads and I have discovered a new personal favorite.

watermelonSummer makes me lazy at times, so much that I have been showing my blender all the love and neglecting my poor little juicer. I can't help it, I really really dislike washing the juicer! I always end up getting splashed with water even when I try to prevent it. Plus all of the pieces that need to be clean seem like a hassle, so I turn to my blender! But I must say, I don't mean to use this as anything against my juicer. It's the best juicer I've ever had and is so efficient in that it is slow juicing, extracts maximum amount of juice and is not loud at all. I use a Omega VRT350 Juicer and a Vitamix 6300. I have a list of What's In My Kitchen if ever you are interested in what I normally eat/use.
