Easy Hummus Sauerkraut Salad sweetsimplevegan.comI put together a recipe inspired by my friend Vegetaryn for lunch the other day, and it turned out so good that I wanted to share it here with you all to try out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT73Fpha3t8 If you don't have all of these ingredients OR if you do not like some of them, that is okay! This recipe is actually all about the dressing --sauerkraut and hummus-- then you can add in whatever you'd like inside of it.

Vegan Avocado Yogurt Ranch Dressing {oil-free} sweetsimplevegan.comEvery time someone tells me that they have a hard time eating salads, I always tell them that what they are in need of is good a dressing. Not just any dressing, but one that is still healthy and free of any added oils. Why ruin a perfectly healthy salad with a fatty and unhealthy dressing? Before going vegan and eating healthy in general, I was used to eating my salads doused with ranch dressing. Well, I decided to make a healthier vegan version of ranch dressing, and this is what was born :) I was also inspired by my friend Ashley Clark and her raw vegan ranch dressing that I was fortunate enough to try at a potluck last summer. Mexican Pizza Cake w/ Sun Dried Tomato Jalapeño Cornbread {gluten & oil-free} sweetsimplevegan.comI honestly can't remember how Chris and I came up with this recipe idea -- we were chatting one day about future blog posts etc. that we  wanted to create, and one way or another, a pizza cake came to mind. Our original idea was a bit different, but after being blown away by mexican-style pizzas from our friends Alex and Kristin (Mr. and Mrs. Vegan), we just couldn't resist.

My favorite item at Sunday brunch growing up -- french toast! Not only does this recipe no longer require eggs, it does not have to be fried, either. Want to know my secret to the PERFECT low fat vegan french toast? BANANAS! This past weekend, Chris and I took an impromptu trip to Big Bear, CA to spend the Fourth of July weekend with my family and enjoy the festivities held at the lake. My mom surprised us with homemade bread on Saturday morning and Chris had a brilliant idea -- let's make french toast!

Easy Crunchy Granola {gluten- & oil-free} | sweetsimplevegan.comCrunchy, chunky AND oil-free? Could this be true? I needed to find an easy go-to granola recipe that I could start making weekly for my home, as I started making smoothie bowls almost daily that the temperature has shot up here in LA! My combos vary based on what I have in the kitchen, but I got my hands on some frozen pitaya packs, and a frequent recipe lately has been this Cacao Pitaya Protein Smoothie Bowl (below), and you can find that full recipe here.
